estudio cabana works across disciplinary boundaries in the fields of literature, graphic design and architecture.
A member of the Toronto Society of Architects and the Ontario chapter of the United Architects of the Philippines, he is also an active advocate of Filipino migrant rights and welfare in Canada.
Cabana's research takes the complex physical geography, culture, politics and historiography of the contemporary city as a starting point for a speculative approach to architecture and urbanism. He writes in-depth analyses of a project's performance, sustainable and design attributes, and local attributes. His interest lies in regional specific, ie. responsive to its site and culture, and high-performance (but low impact building of) architecture.
